2025

We are starting to get dates for our regular seminars for 2025 (Kagami Biraki, Spring Seminar and Autumn Seminar).

Jan 17-19 Our Kagami Biraki Seminar for 2025 will be held with Mick Cipra and guest instructor Matt Lynch.

May 16-18 Our Spring Seminar for 2025 will be held with guest instructors Harvey Konigsberg and John Chiarolanzio.

Sept/Oct timeframe While we don't have a firm date, we have confirmed that our Autumn Seminar for 2025 will be held with guest instructor Peter Bernath

Other Information

Recordings of past zoom clases are on our online class page. We have over 200 zoom classes recorded! Some of the weapons katas are on a special kata page.

We have a video series on solo practice so you can continue to work on your aikido practice if you can't come into the dojo.

2024

Japanese Misowaki Students visited July 25-July 28, 2024   with training at the dojo.

Our mat replacement project was successfully completed on Sunday July 22. Thanks to everyone who participated in the project. It took just a little over an hour but would not have been possible without a lot of helpful people. Thanks!

Jan 30, Wayne Sensei's 85th birthday
On Tuesday Jan 30, Wayne Sensei celebrated his 85th birthday and is still practicing aikido with us! We had celebrations on both Tuesday and Saturday (for those who couldn't make the 6:30 Tuesday morning class). Congratulations to him!         Some pictures...

Oct 13-15, 2023  Our Autumn Seminar for 2023 was held Oct 13-15 2023 with guest instructor Peter Bernath. This was our first time hosting him and we were very pleased with the seminar.

Sep 21, 2023   Kazuo Sensei for 2023 will be visiting during the 7:15 Thursday evening adult class. Kazuo Sensei does martial arts with a soft, effective technique.

June 24, 2023   Don hosted another "Owatonna Outdoor" practice for Saturday June 24, 3:00-5:00 pm with cook-out to be held afterwards. We are trying to provide a mid-way point between the dojo and our Rochester folks as well as having a fun activity for all.

June 11, 2023   Thanks to everyone who came in on June 11 at 1:00 to help swap the two mats, restring and re-tension them. We were finished by 3:00 and most people stayed through the whole process. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! A time-lapse of the process is uploaded to YouTube here

June 2-4, 2023   Our June Seminar for 2023 was held June 2-4 2023 with instructors Harvey Konigsberg and John Chiarolanzio. We had a great seminar and many thanks to the instructors, the participants, and especially everyone who helped put the seminar together!
